Access door frame is 16-gauge, galvannealed steel. Access door panel is 20-gauge, galvannealed steel filled with 2-inch thick fire-rated insulation, welded pan type. Masonry anchors and bolt holes are provided. Both door and frame are finished with a prime coating suitable for painting.

The access door is self-latching and features a heavy-duty spring automatic closer and interior latch release. The recessed exterior universal self-latching bolt is operated by either a knurled knob or flush key.

FRC Series access doors are rated by Underwriters Laboratories for 1-1/2 hours, “B” label in walls; Warnock Hersey for 3 hours in ceilings and 2 hours in walls; Canadian code CAN/ULC S104 for 2 hours in walls.
